At his death in 1986, M Georges Junod, a citizen of Vaud living in Geneva, left his fortune to the Fondation pour Genève for it to manage as a fund to aid elderly people in need.

Since its creation, the Georges-Junod Fund has handed out over CHF 5,000,000.- to various institutions in order to improve the well-being of elderly people.
